Unter dem Thema „LMU-Medizin International“, beim diesjährigen Jahresempfang der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, möchten Klinikum und Medizinische Fakultät der LMU München, die Bedeutung der internationalen Förderungs- und Forschungsbeteiligungen für den Erfolg der modernen Medizin hervorheben. „Internationale Kooperationen, Partnerschaften und Aktivitäten tragen maßgeblich zum Erfolg und zur globalen Reputation der LMU-Medizin bei“, so der Dekan der Medizinischen Fakultät Prof. Dr. Reinhard Hickel. Geladen sind neben Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern des Klinikums und der Universität München auch internationale Gäste. Die globale Verbindung der LMU mit Forschungseinrichtungen, Kliniken und führenden Wissenschaftlern, ermöglicht unter anderem länderübergreifende Forschungsprojekte, klinische Studien, den Aufbau medizinisch-wissenschaftlicher Expertise und die Ausbildung von Medizinern im In- und Ausland. Der Internationale Einsatz und Austausch von Ärzten, Pflegekräften und Wissenschaftlern sei für eine leistungsfähige Spitzenmedizin in München, Bayern und der ganzen Welt unerlässlich, so Prof. Dr. Karl-Walter-Jauch. Bei dem Treffen möchten sich LMU und die vertretenen internationalen Gäste über Konzepte und Strategien für erfolgreiche Medizin-Kooperationen austauschen und gegenseitig Projekte vorstellen. Die globale Vernetzung der LMU entspricht nicht nur der geschätzten Reputation der Münchner Universität, sondern auch der alltäglichen Internationalität der Hochschule. Neben den 100 Nationalitäten unter den Mitarbeitern, sind es auch die zu behandelnden Menschen die aus aller Welt in das LMU-Klinikum kommen. Die LMU München ist an verschiedensten internationalen Projekten entweder als Drittmittelgeber, Forschungs- oder Kooperationspartner in Aus- und Weiterbildung, unter anderem in Äthiopien, Tansania, Vietnam, Kolumbien, Peru und Brasilien tätig.
