Millionen-Auftrag für deutsche Waffenindustrie
Der Stahl- und Rüstungskonzern Rheinmetall wird demnächst das kanadische Militär mit Radar- und Soldatensystemen ausstatten. Der Auftrag wird von der Tochtergesellschaft Rheinmetall Canada ausgeführt. Das Auftragsvolumen beträgt derzeit einen Wert von 100 Millionen Euro und kann im Laufe der Jahre ein Volumen von 350 Millionen Euro erreichen. Das geht aus einem Pressebericht von Rheinmetall hervor, welche auf der offiziellen Homepage veröffentlicht wurde. Mit Range Radar (MRR)-Systemen können kanadische Streitkräfte die Abschuss- und Einschlagpunkte feindlicher Raketen, Artillerie- oder Mörsergeschosse bestimmen. Die Lieferung des MRR-Systems erfolgt in Zusammenarbeit mit der Firma ELTA Systems Ltd. die das bereits im Einsatz befindliche und praxiserprobte ELM-2084 Multi-Mission-Radar bereitstellt. Für das Programm-Management, die Systemintegration, sowie Tests und integrierte logistische Unterstützung wird als Hauptauftragnehmer die vollständige Tochter des Düsseldorfer Rheinmetall-Konzerns Rheinmetall Canada verantwortlich sein. Zur modularen Kampfausstattung des Soldaten, der Verbesserung von Lagewahrnehmung und zur sicheren Kommunikation liefert Rheinmetall das Integrated Soldier System (ISS). Es besteht die Aussicht, dass die kanadische Regierung nach einer erfolgreichen Qualifikation weitere Lieferungen in Auftrag gibt. Rheinmetall ist Marktführer in der Herstellung moderner Soldatensysteme und kann auf langjährige Erfahrung zurückblicken.
