3 Millionen Euro für die Forschung
Das Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi) stellt im Rahmen des Förderprogramms EXIST drei Millionen Euro für fünf Forscherteams, bestehend aus jungen Wissenschaftlern der Universität Heidelberg, bereit. Dadurch unterstützt das Förderprogramm Unternehmensgründungen die durch herausragende und aufwendige wissenschaftliche Forschung neue Ansätze im medizinischen und technologischen Bereichen liefern. Das Förderprogramm sieht zwei Phasen vor, bei dem in den ersten 18 Monaten potenzielle, in einen Businessplan umsetzbare Forschungsergebnisse weiterentwickelt werden sollen. Dem folgt eine weitere Phase für einen Zeitraum von eineinhalb Jahren. Die Bewerbung der geförderten Forscher wurden von der Technology Transfer Heidelberg Gmbh, dem Gründungsmanagement der Universität und dem Verein Heidelberg Startup Partners unterstützt und begleitet. Das vom Europäischen Sozialfonds kofinanzierte Programm sieht als weitere Maßnahmen auch die Aufnahme der Geschäftstätigkeit und die Schaffung von Voraussetzungen zur externen Unternehmensfinanzierung vor.
